Boats and Brats - A social get-together in South Haven that offers free Vessel
    Safety Checks.  Attend the picnic (we do ask for a donation to cover food costs),
    but the boat inspection is free.

Cooperative Charting - A service project to help maintain nautical charts and
    safe waterways.  More on Coop Charting.

Predicted Log Contest - Test your skills in predicting your time against wind,
    water and current in your own boat.  Learn about Predicted Log Contest.

Vessel Safety Check Program - Get your boat inspected to see if you have all the
    necessary safety equipment and that it is working order. Inspection is free.
    Only you get the report.  An annual VSC sticker lets Coast Guard and Sheriff's
    Department Marine Officers know you care about safe boating.

In addition we also have numerous social functions
    on and off the water, throughout the year.  

We offer at least six safe boating classes to the public every year.
    Two classes each are offered in Battle Creek and 4 in Kalamazoo.
    Additional classes may be offered as demand requires. These classes,  
    taught by KSPS volunteers are free except for the text material.  
Public classes

More in depth classes are offered to our membership. These include elective and  
advanced courses in seamanship, piloting, navigation, engine maintenance, sail,
marine electronics, weather, etc..
