| Boating Certificate needed New 2012 Michigan Law If born after June 1996 - Its the law - you absolutely need a boating class and must carry class certificate when you operate a motor boat. Born before July 1996 Its recommended you take a boating class Jet Ski, Wave Riders & all Personal Watercraft - PWC Born after 1978 you need boating class to operate a PWC. Born before 1978 - you do not need boating class unless you are a parent of a teen PWC operator --------- Don't need to be certified to operate a PWC or boat? | If you prefer to study at your own pace, take either ABC - 3 online at www.USPS.org or Michigan DNR course at http://www.boat-ed.com/Michigan/index.html then take the proctored exam from us. Call Wally, Nils or Harold at least 4 weeks before you want to take exam so instructor can order test. |
